Montréal, October 7, 2025 – The Fédération québécoise de sports électroniques (FQSE) and the Virtual Guardians Foundation (VGF) announce a strategic partnership aimed at promoting a responsible, safe, and balanced practice of esports in Québec.
Key areas of the partnership
This partnership is built around three major objectives:
- Protect and support young people: VGF becomes the official partner of FQSE to assist players in distress within digital and esports environments, offering tailored resources and specialized support.
- Structure the practice of esports: FQSE is recognized by VGF as the reference authority for organizing and promoting the development of esports in Québec.
- Raise awareness and educate: The two organizations will collaborate to develop educational tools and awareness campaigns on digital hygiene, addiction prevention, and life balance.
A response to contemporary challenges
This partnership is directly aligned with the recommendations of the Special Commission on the Impacts of Screens and Social Media on the Health and Development of Young People. It aims to:
- Prevent the risks of addiction and promote a balanced use of video games.
- Train key adults (parents, coaches, educators) to better support young people.
- Highlight the potential of video games as tools for socialization, learning, and cultural development.
A shared vision for the future
“We firmly believe that esports can be a positive driving force for Québec’s youth, provided they are guided in a responsible manner,” says Louis-David Lalancette Renaud, President of FQSE.
“This partnership is a concrete step forward toward a more human digital world that protects mental health and promotes collective well-being,” adds Patrick Pigeon, Executive Director of VGF.
