MONTREAL/QUEBEC, January 9, 2026 – The Virtual Guardians Foundation (VGF) and the Quebec Esports Federation (FQSE) are proud to announce the launch of their first 2026 fundraising campaign. This initiative, born from their strategic partnership, aims to promote a responsible, safe, and balanced practice of esports in Quebec while contributing to a more human digital environment.

A Shared Goal

  • The goal of this campaign is to raise $2,000 to fund the essential presence of VGF’s Digital Outreach Workers (DOW) during the grand finals of the Official CEGEP Esports League (OCEL), which will take place over two weekends (May 2–3 and May 9–10). The exact dates will be confirmed shortly by the OCEL. The DOW ensure a caring presence and provide live support during broadcasts within the esports community, helping to create a safer and more human digital environment for all participants and viewers.

First stop: LAN CSF at Cégep de Sainte-Foy

The campaign will kick off at LAN CSF, taking place from January 16 to 18, 2026, at Cégep de Sainte-Foy. For this flagship event, we have set an initial goal of raising $500. Donations collected during that weekend will help concretely launch the deployment of Digital Outreach Workers’ support services for the season.

More than a fundraiser: a movement for a more human digital world

This initiative lays the foundation for a lasting collaboration between VGF and FQSE for upcoming events. It also serves as a springboard for VGF’s upcoming annual mobilization campaign for a more human digital world, scheduled for next April. By contributing now, donors actively take part in a positive transformation of digital culture in Quebec.

The Virtual Guardians Foundation (VGF) is a charitable organization that promotes healthy and responsible digital use. Specializing in supporting young people and individuals in vulnerable situations within online environments, VGF focuses on prevention and psychosocial support.

The Quebec Esports Federation (FQSE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, supporting, and developing esports in Quebec. It works to structure esports practice in order to make it inclusive, accessible, and beneficial for all.

The Official CEGEP Esports League (OCEL) is powered by the Quebec Esports Federation (FQSE) in collaboration with the Fédération des Cégeps. OCEL is the official circuit bringing together collegiate student-athletes across the province, highlighting both academic and athletic excellence.

The Cégep de Sainte-Foy (CSF) LAN is one of the major gatherings of the student esports community, combining high-level competition and passion for video games in an electrifying atmosphere.
